Home / 2025 GS pay tables 2025 General Schedule (GS) Pay Tables
OPM's 2025 GS pay tables took effect in January 2025: a base
table (Salary Table 2025-GS) and a locality table for each of 58
locality pay areas. The base table went up 1.7% for
2025.
Locality pay areas
Each locality table adds the area's locality pay to the base table. Open
an area for its pay by grade and step and the counties it covers.

Capped cells is the number of grade and step cells, out of 150, that OPM's table limits to the pay cap. Capped: the law limits locality rates to the rate for level IV of the Executive Schedule, $195,200 in 2025 (5 U.S.C. 5304(g)(1)). OPM's table shows the capped amount, and YepGS doesn't show an uncapped one. YepGS is an independent site that copies these rates from OPM's tables. It isn't affiliated with OPM, and these rates aren't a recommendation or a guarantee from OPM of what you're paid.

Base pay table
The base table is the scheduled annual rate for each grade and step,
before locality pay. Open a grade for its pay in every locality pay area.

Law enforcement officers at GS-3 through GS-10 and employees covered by a special rate table may be entitled to a higher rate than the GS locality tables built on this base table show. For GS-1 through GS-4 in the United States, special rate table 001M applies in place of any lower locality rate. YepGS doesn't cover those tables. Ask your human resources office, or see OPM's 2025 special rate tables . YepGS is an independent site that copies these rates from OPM's tables.
