GS Pay Tables and GSA Per Diem Rates, by Locality and Destination

YepGS shows the General Schedule (GS) pay tables that the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) publishes for federal employees, and the per diem rates that the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) sets for federal travel.

What YepGS shows

For GS pay, YepGS lists the annual and hourly rates OPM publishes for each grade and step in each locality pay area. You can compare the same grade and step across locality pay areas and years.

For travel, YepGS lists GSA's lodging and meals and incidental expenses (M&IE) rates for each destination in the lower 48 states and the District of Columbia. Its calculator lays out a trip day by day, with a breakdown you can copy or print.

Every result names the table or fiscal year it comes from, the date the rates take effect, the date YepGS retrieved them, and the source.

Official rates, not advice

The pay and per diem amounts on YepGS come from the tables OPM and GSA publish. YepGS is an independent site. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by OPM or GSA, and its results aren't a recommendation or a guarantee from either agency.

Some employees are covered by a special rate table that pays more than the GS locality table. YepGS doesn't cover special rate tables, so check OPM's special rates or ask your human resources office.

Per diem rates are federal maximums. Your agency's travel policy and your travel authorization decide what you're allowed for a trip.

Methods and sources explains where each number comes from.
