Places not listed

A place in Virginia outside the destinations above gets the standard CONUS rate for FY2027: $113 a night for lodging and $68 a day for M&IE. GSA's rate file says:

Standard CONUS rate applies to all counties not specifically listed. Cities not listed may be located in a listed county.

When a city isn't listed, check whether its county is. If the county is listed, the county's rate applies. If neither is listed, the standard CONUS rate applies. GSA explains this in its per diem FAQ.

About these rates

Lodging amounts are GSA's maximum nightly rates. The Federal Travel Regulation allows actual lodging costs up to the maximum, not the maximum itself (41 CFR 301-11.19).
Lodging taxes aren't included in the lodging rates.
These are federal maximums. Your agency's travel policy and your travel authorization decide what you're allowed for a trip. An agency can set a lower rate (41 CFR 301-11.22), let you claim the full M&IE when you couldn't take part in a provided meal (41 CFR 301-11.21(d)), or approve the rate of another location when you lodge outside your temporary duty location (41 CFR 301-11.4).
